Tom Rude DDS
Dr. Tom Rude joined our endodontic practice in 1998. He is a native of the Tri-Cities area of Washington State. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Washington Dental School in 1994.
Following dental school, Dr. Rude finished a General Practice Residency at the UW Medical Center and practiced general dentistry as an associate in Monroe and Cottage Lake. He went on to complete his post-graduate Endodontic training at the University of Washington in the summer of 1998. Continuing his passion for the specialty of endodontics, Dr. Rude remained on staff part-time at the university of Washington Endodontic Program as an associate affiliate professor for 17 years. He has been practicing full-time at Kirkland Endodontics for 25 years.
He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics and Washington State Association of Endodontics. He also belongs to the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association and the King County Dental Society. He was recognized by his dental colleagues in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine as a Top Dentist for the past ten years. In his free time, Dr. Rude enjoys snowboarding, running and tennis.

Last month I had a root canal done by Dr. Rude. It was fun from the moment of checking in until I was out the door. Friendly staff and Dr. Rude was the consummate professional, talking through every step. I’m a needle-phobe and he explained the process, having me look away before he started. I never felt a thing, not even a pinch. Definitely, even if you are sure you don’t need it, get the gas. This wasn’t a root canal but more like one of my happiest dreams. Dr. Rude and his assistant Alex were fantastic. Going into this procedure I was expecting there was going to be little pain. There was none. The only part that was a little bit painful, were the novocaine shots. The one thing that amazed me was that there was very little conversation between Alex and Dr. Rude. Alex seemed to know exactly what instrument Dr. Rude needed ahead of time. This helped the procedure move along quickly. They were very fast and were done in an hour…
My mom was referred to Dr Rude two weeks ago for an emergency root canal. The dental assistant Stacey was very kind and gentle with mom who was in a wheelchair.My mom was very nervous but Dr Rude explained everything very well to her that she felt a lot more comfortable with the root canal.They were very fast and were done in an hour. She was a little sore the next day from the root canal but she isn’t scared anymore. My mom has not had anymore pain from that tooth.Thank you Dr Rude and Stacey! Alvin T.
